How to cook Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings 2020?

The Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings is one of the delicious Asian chicken wings courses. All I can say about this dish was it is the fried chicken in a unique way. The fried chicken was a cook with spring onions, ginger, and onion and it was covered by five-spice powder, rice wine, and sesame oil. I assured you that this dish was really delicious and you are going to enjoy eating it together with the barbeque dipping sauce that added in this dish. However, you can substitute the dipping sauce with the varieties of dipping sauces that you like. This dish was easy and simple to cook and it is versatile because you can substitute the chicken wings with the chicken parts that you wanted such as the chicken thigh, chicken fillet, and drumsticks.

Ingredients:

  • 1-kilogram of chicken wings and cut it in 2 pieces
  • 2 cups of cornstarch
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons of ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoons of five-spice powder (ngohiong)
  • 3 pieces of bird’s eye chili peppers, cut (siling labuyo)
  • 2 teaspoon of rice wine (cooking wine: e.g. Shaoxing wine)
  • ⅛ teaspoons of sesame oil
  • salt and pepper for an extra flavor
  • 2 stalks of spring onions or scallion. cut
  • cooking oil to use for frying

Ingredients of Dipping sauce:

  • 1 cup of tomato ketchup
  • 1½  tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 pcs of bird’s eye chili, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions:

  1. Use water to rinse the chicken wings first. Find the joint of the wingette and drumette and chop the wings of that joint in two pieces.
  2. Prepare pepper and salt and sprinkle on the chicken wings. Use cornstarch to cover the chicken wings and soak it in the beaten eggs.
  3. In a pan, heat oil for several minutes or until the oil was set for frying. After that, fry the chicken for over 5 to 7 minutes or until it was already turning into golden brown.
  4. Place the chicken on the wire rack or colander to remove the remaining oil.
  5. Drain the oil in a similar pan and leave only a tablespoon of oil. After that, cook the spring onion, garlic, ginger, and chilies until it becomes aromatic.
  6. Combine the mixture and fried chicken. Mix five-spice powder, rice wine, sprinkle with pepper and salt, and sesame oil. Mix it thoroughly until all the ingredients are already combined. After that, put it on the serving plate and serve along with the barbecue dipping sauce. Enjoy!

How to prepare dipping sauce:

  • In a pan, mix all of the ingredients and cook for around 5 minutes. Took it out from the heat. And you can already serve it as a dipping sauce.
